Corrosion reliability of electronic devices and material combinations:
We work on all aspects of climatic reliability of electronic devices, which includes contamination issues, material aspects, corrosion at component, PCBA, and device level, conformal coatings, reliability prediction, and various testing for electronic corrosion.

High resolution electrochemical measurements:
The aim of the research programme is to develop new localised capillary techniques for electrochemical analysis at Micro- and Nano-scale. Using these techniques, properties can be measured down to micrometer scale. Unlike other localised techniques such as SECM, SVET, or SRET, which needs whole sample to be immersed in required environment, our technique is probe type with varying resolution to determine electrochemistry at localized areas down to nano-scale.
Microstructure, corrosion issues and surface modification:
Major focus is the relation between microstructure, corrosion, and surface modification of engineering materials such as aluminium, steel etc. for various applications including corrosion and optical properties. Various projects are: IDEAL, AMAS, ODAAS, SIST, and STEAMSURF.
